March 19th Update:

Calgary West Little League is continuing to monitor the evolving situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and has received new guidance from Little League Canada and Little League International to defer activities to no earlier than May 11th, 2020. Implementing these necessary safeguards no doubt challenges our association’s plans for the Spring season, but we remain committed to preparing for baseball. We are meeting with the other associations of Little League District 8 to discuss season options, given the uncertainty in timelines. We may ask for your feedback if our plans deviate significantly from the traditional Spring and Summer seasons. Please stay tuned in the weeks ahead.

Thank you for your support and understanding. Best wishes to you all through this difficult time.

Dear families of Calgary West Little League Baseball (CWLL),

With the rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, I wanted to inform you of the considerations at play as the start of our Spring season approaches. CWLL is currently following the municipality, public health departments, and local school districts among other governing bodies and expert references for guidance.

Additionally Little League Canada and Little League International have recently issued guidance on the increasing spread of COVID-19 and are recommending leagues to exercise an abundance of caution and implement a temporary suspension of all league activities that may involve the gathering of individuals for games, practices, events or meetings until no earlier than April 6.

The CWLL Board is working urgently to implement this guidance and be prepared as the situation continues to evolve. Prior to April 6, there are no CWLL activities remaining that involve players. All other activities will either continue without gatherings (i.e. teleconference, email), or will be postponed. Please stay tuned for specific guidance on division drafts and coaching clinics.

Little League Canada and Little League International will continue to provide guidance over the coming weeks and CWLL will be sure to relay its implementation to our families as soon as possible. Our thoughts are with you in keeping your families healthy and adequately-informed during these difficult times.

Sincerely,

Chris May  | President
